New features in Rhapsody4 version 4.30
--------------------------------------
This version of Rhapsody4 is 26/32 bit neutral. However, in order to
achieve this some compromises had to be made to make it work on newer
hardware and this will result in the program running slightly slower
than earlier (26 bit only) versions. Because the newer (32 bit) hardware
is much faster Rhapsody4 will still be quite a bit faster on these
machines than on earlier hardware, but we would recommend that the
minimum specification for this version is a fast Strong ARM RiscPC.
Changes
-------
Previously new scores were held in a NewScores directory inside the
!Rhapsody4 application directory. These have now been moved to a special
repository called !NewScores. This must be 'seen' by the filer before
you start up Rhapsody4.
The advantages of this are that you don't need to delve into the
!Rhapsody4 application to add or remove these 'skeleton' scores. If you
double-click on !NewScores the directory containing these will open and
you can then make any changes required. You can also have more than one
!NewScores if required. This lets you have different skeleton setups for
different types of music without having a large, cluttered, menu for the
new scores within Rhapsody4. If you do have more than one !NewSCores
application then just double-click on one to make that the 'active' one
that will be used by Rhapsody4.
The program's preferences are now saved within the computer's !Boot
application in the normal manner and not within the !Rhapsody4
application, although this can be changed if required.
